Summertime gives us the privilege to wear our favourite dresses, shorts, skirts, sleeveless shirts and what not. Be it Men or Women summer do gives us the advantage to flaunt our body and our lovely clothes.
But, despite using sunscreen on our face and body, we tend to get tanned because the sunblock we use only blocks a certain percentage of UV rays. And re-applying sunscreen while we are out is not practically possible. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy the sun out there.
When we see our face, arms and legs getting darker while the covered parts of our body are of a lighter shade we say than the exposed parts are TANNED, but the question then arises is How to remove tan?
Well, there surely are various products in the market, which may or may not be effective and they range in every price range. But these Holy Grail products don’t give a 100% guaranteed solution to your question how to remove tan?
But here are some home remedies that are self-tested and have shown results to remove tan within a week, these home remedies are safe to use on any skin type and these will not have any side effects on your skin, these products are 100% safe to use, easily available in your house and cruelty-free.
Let’s begin with our first home remedy,
Honey + Lime:
Lemon is the secret ingredient to a healthy, glowing and tan free skin. But it is so acidic that it cannot be used alone on the skin and misbalances the PH of the skin. Lemon is a natural bleach exfoliator.
Squeeze the lime juice into a bowl and add ½ t of honey, apply it to the affected area keep it for 20 minutes and wash it off with plain water. Repeat it for a week and you will see visible results after the third day of regular use.
Rich in Lycopene and another star ingredient was given to us by nature is a saviour when it comes to removing tan. Lycopene has a powerful property to act as a natural sunblock. It reduces the redness, darkness and skin damage caused by the sun.
Cut a tomato into half rub it on the affected area for 10 minutes, Wait for 20 minutes before washing it off with water. Use it regularly for a week to see visible and effective results.
Yoghurt and turmeric:
Yoghurt is rich in probiotics and thus promotes skin brightening and turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which provide lustre to the skin by reducing the redness, skin damage and darkness of the skin caused by sun damage. Mix 1t of turmeric with 1 t of chilled yoghurt make it into a paste and apply it on affected areas. Use it for a week to see visible results.
Aloe Vera is known as a natural healer in Ayurveda. It is a beauty elixir given to us by nature. It contains anti-oxidants, Enzymes, Vitamin A and C. It not only helps to treat acne and acne scars but also treats burns and skin damage.
Cut the Aloe Vera into half and extract the pulp into a bowl, use this pulp as cream and massage it on the tanned area of your body. Use it twice in a day for 7 days to see visible results.
