How To Make Khaman Dhokla Recipe In 20 Minutes:

How to make Dhokla Recipe at home:

Lets start with Dhokla Batter:

Gram flour (बेसन)1 Cup
Chilli (Finely Chopped)2
Salt 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder1/2 tsp
Eno Fruit Salt1 tsp
Semolina (सूजी)3 tsp
Ginger paste1/2 tsp
Lemon Juice1 tsp
Oil1 tsp
Water1 Cup

For Dhokla Tempering

Oil3 tsp
Mustard1/2 tsp
Cumin (Jeera)1/2 tsp
Sesame (Til)1 tsp
Asafoetida (Hing)Pinch
Curry LeavesFew
Water1/4 tsp
Sugar1 tsp
Salt1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice1 tsp

For Garnishing

Coconut (grated)2 tsp
Coriander (finely chopped)2 tsp

Steps To Make Dhokla Recipe At Home:

  • Firstly in a large mixing bowl sieve 1.5 cup besan and 3 tsp Rava.
  • Add 1/2 tsp ginger paste, 2 chillies, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp sugar, pinch hing, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp oil.
  • Prepare a smooth batter adding 1 cup of water or as required.
  • Additionally, add 1/2 tsp of Eno fruit salt. (You can alternatively add a pinch of baking soda)
  • Immediately steam the Dhokla batter for 20 minutes.
  • Further, cut Dhokla and pour tampering.
  • Garnish the Dhokla with 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves and 2 tsp fresh grated coconut.
  • Finally, serve instant Khaman Dhokla recipe with green chutney and tamarind chutney.
